A 67-year-old man has been charged with more sexual assault offences against teenagers he allegedly abused while he was a basketball coach.

Queensland police arrested the man yesterday at a home north of Brisbane.

He has been charged with four counts of indecent treatment of a child, and one count of entering a home with intent.

Police allege the offences were committed against three youths known to the man, who were aged between 11 and 15 at the time.

The offences allegedly took place in 2006, 2023, and 2024 while the man was coaching youth basketball.

The new charges come after the same man was charged in January with a series of alleged child abuse offences.

He was earlier charged with seven counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of grooming a child under 16.

Police alleged these offences took place between 2013 and 2017 after the man allegedly groomed a teenager by "utilising his position as a basketball coach."

The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
