A man has been attacked in Adelaide's Rundle Mall by three other men in broad daylight.

Police are now investigating the seemingly unprovoked brawl.

The victim, Dennis, told 9News he believed the attack was a targeted hate crime.
He was performing in Rundle Mall yesterday with friends, dressed in an animal costume as part of a community called "furries".
The victim fled to a nearby hair salon.
Authorities said the victim had not broken any law performing in the mall.
